Curiosity Academy — K–8 homeschool enrichment academy in West Jordan, Utah

Tuition & Fees

Tuition at Curiosity Academy is as follows:

• Standard Tuition: $350 per month, per student
• Sibling Discount Tuition: $325 per month, per additional sibling enrolled
• Tuition Due Date: Tuition will be due by the first Tuesday in attendance of each month.

A non-refundable $75 registration fee is required for each student at the time of enrollment. This fee guarantees student placement and assists with beginning-of-the-year operational and classroom expenses.

Tuition payments are due according to the school's established payment schedule. Late or missed payments may affect continued enrollment.

Scholarship Student Policies

Curiosity Academy complies with all applicable scholarship program requirements and maintains equal treatment for scholarship and non-scholarship students.

If a scholarship student withdraws from the school and the school's refund policy provides for a tuition refund, any eligible refund shall be remitted directly to Odyssey for deposit back into the student's scholarship account in accordance with the school's standard refund policies. Under no circumstance will Curiosity Academy issue a direct refund to a scholarship student or the parent/guardian of a scholarship student.

Scholarship students shall not be charged tuition, fees, or costs that differ from those charged to non-scholarship students enrolled in the same educational program, nor shall they be subject to different refund policies or terms.

Curiosity Academy will not require a scholarship student or parent/guardian to sign any agreement waiving the student's right to transfer to another qualifying educational provider during the school year.

Curiosity Academy will notify Odyssey within five (5) business days if a scholarship student withdraws from the school during the academic year.

Private Tutoring

One-on-one tutoring sessions are available on Mondays and Fridays:

• 4 sessions: $180
• 6 sessions: $255
• 8 sessions: $320

Tutoring may be covered by the Utah Fits All scholarship for qualified families. When paying with UFA funds, private tutoring must be booked through the Utah Fits All Marketplace.

Curiosity Academy provides supplemental educational instruction and enrichment opportunities for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Program Schedule

Instructional services are offered Tuesday through Thursday for 3 hours during the academic months of September through May.

The school calendar, scheduled breaks, and holiday closures will be communicated to families prior to the beginning of each school year.

Educational Services

Curiosity Academy provides instruction and enrichment aligned with grade-level state standards in the following subject areas:

• Science
• History
• Social Studies
• Art
• Health and Physical Education (Health/PE)

Curriculum and learning activities are designed to support academic growth, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and student engagement.

Learning Environment

Students are encouraged to participate in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, exploration, and active participation. Instruction may include:

• Interactive projects

• Outdoor or movement-based learning opportunities
• Experiential and project-based instruction

Curiosity Academy strives to foster a positive and respectful learning environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Enrollment Eligibility

Students eligible for enrollment include those entering Kindergarten through 8th grade who are able to participate safely and appropriately within the academy's instructional setting and program structure.

Enrollment availability may be limited based on class size, staffing, and program capacity.

Educational Philosophy

Curiosity Academy believes children learn best through meaningful engagement, creativity, exploration, and real-world application. The academy aims to provide an enriching educational experience that complements foundational academic instruction while nurturing each student's individual interests and abilities.

The $75 registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration fees reserve the student's placement and help cover administrative and beginning-of-year expenses.

Tuition is charged on a monthly basis and reserves a student's enrollment space at Curiosity Academy.

Withdrawal Notice

A written notice of withdrawal must be submitted by the parent or guardian at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the student's intended withdrawal date.

Failure to provide proper notice may result in responsibility for the upcoming month's tuition payment.

Tuition Refunds

• Tuition is non-refundable after the student has attended any portion of the month.
• If a student withdraws before attending any days of a new billing month, prepaid tuition for that month may be refunded.
• Partial month attendance will not qualify for prorated refunds unless approved by school administration due to extraordinary circumstances.
• Any approved refunds will be processed within thirty (30) days of withdrawal determination.

Scholarship Students

For students participating in an approved scholarship program, including Odyssey scholarship recipients, any eligible tuition refund will be remitted directly to Odyssey for deposit back into the student's scholarship account in accordance with Curiosity Academy's standard refund policies. Refunds will not be issued directly to scholarship families.

Dismissal or Administrative Withdrawal

Curiosity Academy reserves the right to dismiss or administratively withdraw a student due to:

• repeated nonpayment,
• excessive absenteeism,
• behavioral or safety concerns,
• violation of school policies, or
• circumstances in which the school determines it cannot appropriately meet the student's needs.

In such cases, refunds will be determined according to this policy and at the discretion of school administration.
